Zoe Saldana is the child of Asalia Saldana and Aridio Nazario. She was born in Passaic (New Jersey) on 19th June 1978. Her father is Dominican as is her mother Puerto Rican. Her birthplace was in Queens. After she turned 10 years old, young, she and her family moved to the Dominican Republic, where they lived for the next seven years. Zoe's love for dancing was ignited when they were in the Dominican Republic. Zoe started her dance training with ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy. Not only did her training give her a chance to express young people who are enthusiastic and active and her family, but it was also proving to be a fortunate precursor to the beginning of her acting career. Zoe, her parents and siblings moved into America when she turned 17. The young actress developed a passion of dance and grew more attracted to the theatre.
