Lee Roy Selmon blends the advantages of a scholarship to football in his home with volunteering in the community. One of the first things he did is to help his familial. Lucious Selmon was the father of Jessie Selmon. He and his wife raised nine children on an Eufala farm. In football, he was with his three brothers for Oklahoma. Three of them were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards and Lombardi Awards. He was the best lineman in the entire nation. For three seasons as an offensive lineman, Oklahoma finished 32-1-1 and also won two championships at the national level. As a National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon was given the opportunity to receive a scholarship in his third season in the year 1975. Selmon earned a degree from the university of California in Berkeley. Lee Roy's fourth volunteer service included ten hours per week in volunteer work during college. Then he settled in Tampa following college. He played with the Buccaneers for a period of nine years, and was three-times all-pro. The business venture he started began. His first job was as an Account Relation Officer at First Florida Bank, Tampa. He was a member on the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. This is why Lee Roy was honored when the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated him as one of the most prominent young men in the country. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265 lbs during his time playing college football. He was a captain in 1975. was on the team. team. In 1993, he was a part of at the University of South Florida as an associate director of athletics. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1995, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded the Distinguished American Award for 1989 to Lucious Selmon, Jr. The award was presented by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
